Group 139 is a highly specialised group. We care for children with the severest needs. All children are supported by two adult helpers. We are one of the largest groups to travel to Lourdes with a total of 20 helpers and eight children every year.

Group One was the first HCPT group, started in 1956 but, as with groups 2 and 3, did not become “One” until 1958 when HCPT started numbering its groups. Group One continues to take children with a wide range of physical social and emotional needs to Lourdes every Easter.

Our group was founded in 1981 and has taken children from Leeds every Easter since. Members of our group include experienced nurses specialising in paediatrics as well and child and adolescent psychiatry.  We have two doctors and two trustees in our group.  We are also lucky enough to have a group chaplain.
