Our group originated from the Caribbean. We join pilgrims from the West Indies in Lourdes, combining our strength in music, sharing chaplains, and participating in all activities as one group. We work with parents and children, and maintain links after the trip with the children. We take referrals from many nationalities.

We are the only group in the Diocese of Menevia. We meet regularly and form a close family group within the Diocese.

We are a relatively new group from a wide range of backgrounds. Mainly made up of helpers who met through links with St Peter’s High School in Gloucester… and now the word is spreading further! We have lots of fun together and take mainly more active children, due to the skills within our group.

Our focus is on Easter week each year, but we meet throughout the year to socialise and to raise funds for children in our area to enjoy an amazing week in Lourdes.

During the summer months, Group 72 gathers its children for the following Easter. Our monthly meetings begin in September and the final one is on Palm Sunday when we all attend Mass at our Chaplain’s church. After the pilgrimage we have a reunion party followed by a couple of get togethers running into the summer…
